The Opportunity

In this role, you will support the business in managing all aspects of the HR function in Australia by providing effective and efficient generalist expertise. This role is essential in guiding them through recruitment, performance management, and other key HR processes.

More broadly, you will work as part of a global HR team, working with counterparts in the EMEA, APAC, US and Canada with the opportunity to travel to other regions and collaborate.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing HR leadership across the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and exit processes
  • Coaching and mentoring people leaders to improve their recruitment and management capabilities, especially in performance management and difficult conversations
  • Lead and facilitate cyclical activities on a local level, while implementing relevant global people initiatives alongside onshore and offshore HR teams
  • Coach and build capability of leaders to anticipate organizational issues and support leaders in building a high performing workforce with an open and collaborative culture
  • Managing L&D, headcount and budget responsibilities to ensure alignment with the global strategy and local business needs
  • Ensuring compliance with employment law and best HR practices, offering both practical advice and strategic guidance

About You

To see success in this role, you will have proven experience working in a generalist and business partnering capacity, preferably in FMCG or luxury retail space. Your ability to build strong relationships at all levels of seniority, alongside a strategy-oriented mindset, with the ability to balance the global and local business needs to facilitate relevant people initiatives accordingly.

You will leverage your experience working to shape and deliver the people agenda in company with other senior leaders. Further to this, you are a comfortable communicator with strong coaching and leadership skills with the ability to uplift capability to drive performance and engagement.

Above all, you will be a collaborative and flexible HR professional who thrives working in a professional and proud working environment with a passion for success.

Please note there will be occasional out-of-hours calls (1-2 evenings per month) to collaborate with your global counterparts, with flexibility provided around this.

The Process

The recruitment process will include two stages of interviews, starting with the Senior Leadership Team, followed by interviews with the HRD in London and the MD.
